We still have a few flowers left, so I spent some time this weekend hanging out back. The fall migration gave me a treat, observed six monarchs at once making the rounds..
F/13, 1/125th, ISO 640, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm + 1.4x & natural light.

Great look at this Am. Lady, Howard. You've got good sharpness wingtip to wingtip and the flowers add some fine color. In looking at the larger view, I find myself wondering about either some dodging of the petals near the lrc or maybe a slight desaturation there. I think that would let this lovely lady stand out even more.

Very nice, Howard. Wonderful color and superb detail in the BF in nice light. I like the comp as well. Looking forward to seeing the monarchs, but hard to top this. :toast:

Great detail and beautiful color. I like the way the butterfly stands out from the flowers.

Great look at a lovely species, Howard. We see so many Monarch photographs (even with the population problems) that I'm glad you took the time to capture this beautiful, but less popular butterfly. Remarkable depth of field!

Beautiful Howard. I really like how you manage such wonderful depth of field, not to mention framing so wonderfully. Sweet work as usual. :wavey:
