Savannah Building

This is Alex Raskin's Antique store and residence at the SW corner of Monterey Square in Savannah. Savannah in its original design had 24 such squares, of which there are still 21. These squares were designed as public green spaces, which they still serve as today. They are also used during civic occasions, weddings, etc.

The house has lovely textures and wrought iron work. I like it even better in black and white (with a light sepia tint to warm it up), although it is nice in color as well.

I and another photographer have been retained to photograph the squares and surrounding historic buildings for a book to be published late next year or early in 2016. I have been quite busy this last week on this and have not had time for nature photography as such, although the squares are urban natural spaces. They are lovely and unique, so I will be posting some of this from time to time.

Thanks for looking. Let me know what you think.

Like this closeup comp that shows off the textures, stonework, and wrought iron in great detail Phil.
Good luck with the project, hope it all goes well :toast:

Nice decision to go black and white with this, Phil - the perspective yields some great lines across the frame, and I love all the texture. Very nice !!
