Great song. Trying to learn more about B&W and saw this image from a while ago and thought it might work. Went pretty dark with the processing but I liked the mood it produced. Thundering rain but got lucky with a small break in the heavy overcast for a few minutes. Please view large.

Nikon D7000
Sigma 10-20@ 20mm
.6 sec.@ f20
ISO 100
CPL

All C&C greatly appreciated.
Start in Silver FX but mainly PS with TK's actions.

I love this one Bill. The darkness and the mood work very well for me. No suggestions.

Works very nicely in B&W, Bill. I really like the POV with the river leading our eyes down toward the bend leaving us wondering about what might be further down stream. The low clouds just add to the mystery here. Nice work overall.

Very moody image. Works well in black and white! The low clouds a little bit of mystery to the scene. Beautiful work

Bill, very well done, a lot of contrast. the lighter trees give it depth and the clouds are very cool.

Oh man, this is just so gorgeous in black and white! It is such a moving composition, and the contrasting tones in the trees and clouds make this look like it was made for black & white (although I know your processing had a lot to do with that). Great vision to see this in monochrome, and great processing to see that vision through.

Billit is good to see you post such a beautiful B/W. I love it. Very dynamic flow to the image and the clearing storm and lighter trees (larch?). First class all the way and it will make a wonderful print. :toast:

Black and White truly sets the mood with this shot, and those lower clouds add to the mystic. Nicely done

Beautiful. Excellent job on the conversion and very sweet image. Great mood. It almost looks IR, too.

The conversion looks awesome Bill, and I like the way some of the trees really stand out from the others in this image. The mood and flow keep you in this one for a good long time, and I love it. :toast:

This is an exceptional B&W, Bill. Those clouds create some wonderful drama and I love the way the water flows diagonally into the scene. Beautiful work!

Fabulous b & w conversion. Couldn't begin to county the shades of white and black and grey. The darkish look gives it an even more compelling feel. Wonder which river? Wow.
