Interesting image. Shows well the habitat of these elephants. But, not sure what, I feel there is something missing to make this photo really stand out. I like the light, maybe this needs to be seen very large. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with John. The larger image is a huge improvement. Even larger would be better. It's not for the detail, but the atmosphere. :toast:

It's good that the backlit trail of dust/steam is there. It makes the scene somewhat interesting and certainly helps define the shape of the lower elephant.

Lovely composition with the pano crop. The backlighting with the dust is special here, great shot Jagdeep. :toast:

Lovely scene with great light ! Although I like the pano crop and think it's a great image as is I would like to see the entire image for even more sense of space. :toast:

Hi Jagdeep,

I really like this shot - beautiful lighting and the position of the multiple subjects works really well for me. Nice layering too. And I particularly like the curled trunk on the lower elephant. Very nicely done.

In general I'm finding panos almost overdone these days, but I think this shot - with its dominant horizontal lines (and levels) works well as a pano. Every time I look at the shot tho' I think the same thing - that it needs just a touch more room on top so that the almost triangular tree near the URC isn't touching the frame (that single tree makes the image feel - to me - that it's "scrunched" into a slightly too small frame. Hope this makes sense...

Cheers...

I like this as a pano Jagdeep. I like the surrounding habitat and cropping it to a pano makes me focus on the important things in the shot. Nice work

Hi Jagdeep,

Well, I'm completely biased, but the 2nd repost works very well for me (I did like the original post a lot, but I really love this repost). Not only does that extra space give those trees a little breathing room, but it also helps "ground" your subjects and - at least for me - make it more of an expansive and "encompassing" scene. And, I very much like the sky:ground ratio of it. Nice.

Thanks!

Brad

Truly stellar, Jagdeep. I like the repost formats best, and personally would give a sky proportion between those two. The light on the right hand elephant makes the image!

I love the original post, but with more sky! Aside from my vote on that issue, I think this speaks well to the caption in your signature line, Jagdeep. Congrats on the Pick!

Jagdeep,
My vote is for the Pano repost of this excellent scene that you captured.
Well done and congratulations on the WP . . .
