This is a studio shot of a leaf I found on Turtle Creek. Shot with soft box underneath a white plexy table top and soft box above right for expsure..

I like the concept to isolate the leaf. The background seems inconsistent however if you were aiming for pure soft white; there's definitely some noise in the top third. The stem also seems to need some additional contrast.

Your subject posed very nicely for you, Rick. The lighting really shows of the details in this Sweet Gum leaf. I like the idea and your presentation here, but am not sure that pure white is the best background. Based on color theory and calling the main colors in this leaf red and orange, I wonder about a very light blue background (a split complement in color theory).

Well done, Rick. The high key bg works for the subject, IMO. Simple but effective.

The leaf itself has great 'character'. I think when they drop the aging makes them even more beautiful
Great studio shot, thanx for the inside scoop on how you made this Rick :toast:

Very nice formal portrait of this leaf. The lighting adds a lot to the colors and textures.
