Pied Wagtail
"Little trotty wagtail" as the poet ,John Clare referred to them.

Little trotty wagtail he went out in the rain,
And tittering, tottering sideways he neer got straight again,
Little trotty wagtail, he waddled in the mud,
And left his little footmarks, trample where he would.
He waddled in the water-pudge, and waggle went his tail,
And chirrupt up his wings to dry upon the garden rail.

Part of a poem I remember from childhood.

About the last shot at my new pool before we got al the wet weather which means there's water every where now. The backdrop odd coulour is the quarry sand and the yellowish on the birds head I think is the sign of a young bird.

John,
This is very nice I cannot say I can remember seeing a "yellow" face before. Love the autumnal colours in the background :toast: :toast:

A lovely photo of a sometimes difficult, hyperactive bird. The yellowish-whote in the face and the colors in the background aren't ideal, but it does make it stand out.
