Last Leaves of Autumn

I've reworked this image from a version posted in Landscape a year ago. It was shot early one morning in late November, with just a scattering of leaves left on the trees and bushes.

The location is that of my previous WC post - a precious patch of natural land in the built-up area where I live.

Canon 400D, 18-55 @ 18, 1/320 @ f11, -0.67ev, ISO 400; GND filter and a layer of Angel Glow in Perfect Effects 9.

Well composed for the light and with the tree as the focal point, Ian. Good use of the sun's rays. They add warmth and interest but do not overpower the scene. Well captured.

Not sure that I see any leaves on the tree, Ian, but that doesn't matter. The silhouette of the tree, the lighting, and the balance between the tree and the sun work wonderfully. As with your previous post from this area, it looks like a great spot to walk in. I do see some subtle haloing in and around the tree branches...possibly an effect from the Angel Glow?

Hi Ian :wavey: Wondering if this tree had many colorful leaves before thy fell? My ginko tree leaves always fell at the first frost. and were always green. except last year, when they turned a golden color.for the first time... . you captured the light beautifully here. and this scene evokes a perfect autumn mood.

I like the mood of this scene, Ian. That big tree makes for a great subject and you composed it in the frame just right.
