A second shot of the Admiral from the first week of November, here in Central Texas.
What difference a month makes, all the flowers are brown now..
F/9, 1/320th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x and overcast @ 12:54pm

Well, the blooms and butterflies were still going strong into November for you, Howard. Beautiful colors and absolutely perfect dof management with super detail on the flower center and BF, and a very nice bg. Fine comp as well. Meets the high standard of "expertly and artistically done." I like this one a lot. Kudos. :toast:

Still plenty of color when you took this. Beautiful background really makes the butterfly stand out. Nice detail and dof, as well. Great image

Excellent sharpness in the Admiral and it's perch, Howard, plus the background adds some fine colors as well. I was thinking about being jealous of flowers into November, but then I thought about how long and hot your summers are... In my book, there's no such thing as perfect weather any where.

How lucky you are to see these in November, Howard - ours managed October ( just ! ). Attractively simple composition with the deep red of the Admiral holding its own in a splendid array of pinks and reds !
