Denali Foothills

Taken in late fall in Denali National Park. This is a view from the Eilson Visitors Center. These are the smaller mountains leading up to the big one.

I wanted to get more detail so I could print this larger so I shot two rows of 3 frames to get this composite.

Panoramas are seriously compromised by the small view so please look at the larger version.

Sony DSC-R1, All frames: ISO-160, f9.0, 1/1250

The large version really sings Gary. Great drama, beautiful light and the blue sky at the top adds more interest for me. I might bring the light up a touch in the lower right corner but my 13 inch Macbook tends to be dark so you might see what others think. This is a great vista and a beautiful image for my tastes.

Magnificent contrast between the dark autumn vegetation and the snow - in fact, this type of contrast and the season that type of season that this image depicts are one of my favorite settings. Maybe a bit more of light on the lower right foreground would be good, but I'm not really sure. I like it the way it is.

This will certainly make a great large print, Gary. Beautiful scene. My only thought would be to crop the little bit of blue off the top. Sweet Pano.

Gary, I think printing this one large is a great idea. It should make a beautiful print for sure and would really catch peoples eyes I would think. I could see cropping the bit of blue at the top as Gary P mentioned but otherwise perfect imo. Print it!

Nice capture Gary. Looks like an awesome place to go for a hike. I'd be mesmerized in a place like that.

The sharpness of the snowy peaks really draws my eyes. It's a beautiful view, Gary, well worth hanging large. I do see a couple of edge bits without any image (top left vertical and top right horizontal), that you want to crop or fix before hanging this on a wall.

Awesome shot Gary. Was there in July 08 and socked in with clouds so never got to see it. Love the contrast, sharpness of the peaks and near perfect timing during the day to catch some shadows off the ridges and peaks that enhance the detail. I agree with other comments, print it an print it large. Excellent work!

Nice mountain scene, Gary. The mountains and the sky look spot-on. I would like to see a bit more detail in the foreground, especially in right lower portion of the image. Nicely done.

I think this view works so well Gary. The mountains appear to be so pure and innocent, and there is a beautiful sense of peace in this image. I may experiment with the lrc before I print it out. I kind of agree with some other comments about bringing up a tad, but ever so slightly.

Just beautiful photography
