Sorry for posting a photo with the bird at a feeder, but have been trying for some time to get a decent photo of a tufted titmouse. This one was at the Sugar Grove Nature Center in central Illinois, about 150 miles south of the state of Chicago, and made repeated trips to the feeder, each stop barely a minute.

Canon 3.8-247 @ 247mm
monopod.

Good detail on the bird, and a nice pose. Titmice are like that. The will get one grain, fly off and eat it, then back for more.

Not an easy subject at all John. My best images of these guys was from one of the photo farms in south Texas from a blind...and even then, you have to be fast on the trigger...they are there one minute and gone the next...very fast little fellas indeed.

Hi John,

These guys provide a lot of frustration and practice for the trigger finger. Last Summer, I saved one of the babies from a cat and mom rewarded me by sitting on a branch and letting me get off a nice shot--that's karma  . You have a nice pose and pretty good detail on your capture,,,,,,,,,,,,,Jim
