Another nice one, Pat, great view and nice depth.
The FG looks a tad over sharpened to me....

The larger version really has to be viewed to get the full 3D depth of this image, makes me feel like I'm right there with the camera. That tree on the right looks like I could grab it. I could even stand a bit more saturation overall on this but very nice as presented, Pat. :toast:

This is a gentle, pastoral and very inviting look into the canyon, Pat. Well seen.

Pat: I like how you incorporated the pines in the comp - just the right amount for my tastes. I also like the color palette you got from this subdued light. Well done.>=))>

I agree with Bill's assessment. I also like that you used nature's natural drama without trying to improve upon it with post processing.

I think the fir trees do add to the composition but am not sure about the shrubbery on the bottom. The plants do give a wonderful sense of distance. And the sky looks very real to me.

Nice, Pat. I'm convinced that there is no way to take a bad photograph any where on the North Rim. :toast:

Nice light and wonderful color, Pat. The sky looks great. I'm a little on the fence with lighter-toned tree bottom left. but this still has a nice look and feel to it.

Another beauty, Pat! I'm especially drawn to the colors in this. The clouds really add a wonderful look to this already amazing view.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate them.

This was my second attempt at trying to do a more dynamic composition. I'm basically trying to make the viewer feel more like they're participating in the actual scene rather than being a detached observer of it. From the comments, I'm pretty sure this image was more successful than the last. Interestingly, at least to me, I have a lot more inclination to do this kind of image when I'm not using a tripod. Seems more spontaneous and less rigid. Again, thank you very much for your feedback.

Wonderful depth to this, Pat, as others have noted. You really succeeded with your intent of a dynamic comp. :toast:

I like this view for it's unique window to the Grand Canyon. The way you have framed up the canyon with the pines is refreshing, and love the depth and color palette. This is just all around good photography Pat, such a sweet view.
