Captured this Starling while photographing ducks at a local pond. I liked the colors of the water and the starling. Fairly large crop, but I think it held up fairly well. Comments and critiques welcome.

Yes, it did hold up very well, and the colors on the starling are gorgeous!

This is an unusual setting for the starling. The bird’s speckled attire shows up well and I love the ‘water feature’ background. It’s practically worthy of one of the impressionist painters!

I like this a lot, the water reflections are very nice. The starling seems so isolated on his little rock. The composition is perfect. The crop held up very well Jerry, cool shot! :toast:

I also like the colors a lot in this one Jerry. My only nit, is I feel it is a bit centered. I don't mind a centered subject once in awhile, but since the bird is small in the frame and the perch is dead center, it intensify's the middle comp...(just my two cents). If mine, I might crop a touch off the left and top (just a tiny bit) to move him a it more off center.
