Gallery: Man & NaturePosted December 7, 2014220 views11 comments
Quite literally (one) man and nature. It was kind of cold, but I managed to stand reasonably still for roughly 25 minutes.
Comments most welcome!

Now this is impressive. What are the specs.? Where were you? Your posture suggests that you were out for an evening stroll. Well done!

This was in Eureka Valley, California. It is actually in the morning, roughly 4.30 am or so. Techs are: Nikon D610, 18-35 AF-S @ 18/5.6, ISO 200, 25 min exposure (single frame).

Next time we want the full circular star trails Basil You need to find yourself a willing and patient model though while you "fiddle" with the camera during the shot.
Very nice image anyway.

25 minutes!!?!? I already have a hard time standing still for 30-60 seconds during nightly self-portraits.... But glad you succeeded, because this a great picture!

I like the idea but for me it's too bright since this is a night shot

Basil, This is a very cool shot and I like the idea of it. As Bill mentioned I think it looks a little too bright for a night scene but otherwise very nice.

I like the composition and the star trails, but I do agree with the comments that it is a bit bright for a night shot.

Looks to me, two different frames. Night shot and foreground day time. Your shadow shows a morning/afternoon shot. Eliminate the shadow and make the foreground darker. Should be a very interesting photo.

This is a single exposure at night. The shadow is from moonlight. But your point, which was also mentioned by previous posters, is taken - it's too bright. I'll have to re-process it.
