Looking at You

"Looking at You, Looking at Me" is the real title but it wouldn't fit in the space.

A harbor seal at Valdez, Alaska. I was standing on shore and it seemed to be very interested in me. It was quite a ways out so I had to crop the image significantly to get it this large.

Sony ILCE-6000, SEL55210 @ 210 (315mm equiv.), ISO-100, f8.0, 1/60, handheld.

Nice look at this seal, Gary. I think all the water and the gentle ripples do a good job of setting the stage while keeping the focus on the seal.

The crop held up very nicely - the detail on its whiskers and "eyebrows" is great, makes for a very realistic photo. The calm water frames the quizzical expression very nicely too. Lovely!

Spot on, Gary, for the Challenge ! Very nice capture, with the streak of sunlight on the distant water an attractive feature.

Nicely composed!! I also like the calm water and the sharpness of the seal. Not sure if the light band across the top helps or distracts. think it could go or stay. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Gary,

I like the crop and the seal looks good with all of its whiskers. The ripples add a nice texture to the scene........................Jim
