Other than being a little tight on the mom, this is a fine photo. Fine detail and color. As I have previously mentioned this image brings back yet another zoo experience, when I was involved with hand raising a hippo! Thanks for sharing.

Cute factor HIGH!. I agree with John on the tightness of the mom. Nice capture regardless.

I agree with John & Jerry - we would like to see more of mom. But baby is a beauty!

I haven't seen many shots of baby hippos out of the water, so it's a neat capture and I think your comp is fine. Light on youngster is great, not as nice on momma but not much you could do about that. :toast:

Hi Ken,

The cuteness factor is there for sure! A little bit more of mom would be nice, but overall, the composition is good. The size of mother hippo's head compared against the size of the baby is amazing...............Jim

Thanks everybody, since receiving your comments, I have remembered that we were actually behind a bush and needed to stand up take a few shots and sit down very quickly

Ken,

Like the others, I find the youngster cute. But I'm not really sure if the pano crop works for me in this instance (and would agree with the others about wanting to see more of mom).
