I hope you are not getting tired of my surfer images. What a discovery to find that my bird photography setup is perfect for photographing surfers. And they move much slower. Keeping them focused in the frame is much, much easier.

Taken November 22, 2014 in Mission Beach, California.
Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm ISO250 1/1000 f/9 White Balance Auto RAW Processed in Lightroom, PhotoshopCC2014, NIK and TK Cropped slightly.

Sort of like cross-training. Keeping things sharp for the next bird trip. You really have a knack for catching the action from these guys. Good technique and you also have a nice vantage point. You're getting them at the peak of the action with lots of movement and great supporting role from the ocean. Your processing is nice too with very believable colors. I'm not tired of this stuff yet, so keep it coming. No girls?

Action looks great. I do wish the tether wasn't chopped off on the left.
The whites in the water look like you pushed the whites/highlights down too far. That part of the water is yellowish. Extreme adjustment??

This iteration has no layer mask adjustment to the whites, and is re-cropped to include the entire leash. :toast:

I prefer the original post, Patrick, because the subject is larger. The surfer's pose is special...feet and legs pointing one way with head and torso going the opposite direction. Geez, I wish I could do that. Great action shot.

Loving your shots of the surfers!! Great action, expertly crafted. This will keep you in fine form for bird photography! I don't know how surfers do this and survive– sure is fun to watch. Nice going on the repost– subtle but important changes.

I like this close-up version of the action, and the expression on the surfer so well seen.
What a great series Patrick! :toast:
