Handsome Wisconsin Eagle

One from last winter in Wisconsin. The background is a bit busy, but that is where I found these guys. Lucky for me, he was mostly in a hole in the canopy. I liked the good look at the head. Those eyes and yellow beak really jump out at you. Comments and critiques welcome.

as you say Jerry, a very handsome eagle.
It looks great but there is a strange line of light that follows the main branch from the top left all the way down to the eagle???? It looks as though it may be the result of some cloning

Martin,

No cloning was done on this image. That is snow on the branch. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Jerry: like the look of "curiosity" on the eagle's face and the intensity (as well as the color) of the eyes. I know that you were faced with a busy setting, yet think removing just the branch that touches the bird as well as the smallest one nearest the beak would add to the photo. What do you think? I think this is a very solid shot of this Eagle Jerry. You are so right that this is the setting you so often get with these birds. I love the intense look on his (or her) face. The only suggestion I would have is to move the Eagle a little more to the left to take him more out of center. Also,if that is a twig shadow on his beak (not sure), I might try to remove it. Sweet shot! :toast:
