Thought this was a somewhat different coot image, showing the reflection and the lifted foot. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

I liked the image, Jerry.
I liked the reflection of the water back to the bird.

Jerry: very interesting shot. I like the colors, pose and reflection. What do you think of a bit of a vignette to tone down the water? I'm also curious about the raised foot. Is the bird carrying something in that foot? Richard

Hi Richard,

From what I could tell, he was just stretching his legs, and at another point, his wings. Here is a repost with a bit of vignette. Hope you like it.

Jerry,
Pretty neat image. I love the reflection both on the water AND on the bird. Looks very sharp with excellent detail. Love the red eye and the nice head angle.
AS for the vignette I actually think it works.

Nice pose Jerry. Love water and the reflection. I'm not crazy about the vignette.
