Rowboat Colors

This image was taken on a trip to Maine back in 2002 with my first digital camera - a Nikon Coolpix 995 p&s with an amazing 3.2 MP! My how equipment (and my skills to some extent) have evolved since then.

Looking back at those photos now I'm not terribly pleased with the image quality, but the scenes are still beautiful and the memories still bring a smile to my face. In an effort to improve this image I decided to turn it into photo art primarily using the Topaz Simplify program.

I'm determined this year to spend more time working on my photography skills, more time outdoors and more time on NPN. Happy New Year to us all!!! :toast:

PLEASE VIEW THE LARGER IMAGE.

Typical NE water scene. Nice color palette and positioning of the boats is very symmetrical. I like the feel of the image. Well done.

Carol,
Really like the image. The dock angle, and the colors of the boats are very pleasing. The pink boat in the foreground even has a feathered pink reflection. good work. :toast:

Hey Carol,
I'm loving this interpretation of the 'Dingy Dock' with the one lone Gull standing guard.
Good luck with your New Years resolution and stay determined . . .

Something very satisfying about this image, Carol. You don't notice the gull at first, but it seems to pull all the boat shapes nicely together around the boardwalk. The peaceful mood is strengthened by the pastel colours. Lovely !

Nicely composed and a lovely color palette. Just goes to show that it's not the camera, but the heart and mind of the person behind the lens.
