HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here is my first post for 2015 . . . . waiting for comments

A portrait of a male Cape Buffalo captured in great evening light during last year's August "Big Cat" photographic safari in Motswari Private Game Reserve in Greater Kruger in South Africa.

EOS 1DX - EF200-400mm f4.0L IS USM - 560mm - 1/500sec @ f5.6 - ISO 2500

Great first post of the new year. The boss on this big ole dugga boy is impressive. I like the way the background isolates him. The detail in the larger image is really nice. The drool adds a touch of an "I'm bad attitude". He's looking at you like you owe him money.

Happy New Year to you as well, Mario! What a great first post of 2015! The light is simply wonderful here, and the incredible detail on the face and horns makes this truly exceptional IMO. Love the expression you've captured here, and the saliva just adds to it. Really cool, and absolutely no nits from me...fantastic as presented.

This is easy to appreciate for the textural detail of horn and face. The centered composition works fine. The warm lighting, catching eye reflections and wet nose are pleasing.

That's a really impressive set of horns. I like the darkish tones set against that gold background, Mario.

Like the symmetry of this one Mario. He looks mean and ticked off. The lonely thing that might make him look tougher is a nose ring! :toast:
