Good detail and interesting lighting/shadows. I like the composition. The Bosque is definitely on my bucket list and your recent photos have only served to reinforce my desire to get down there.

Super light - I knew from the thumbnail this was from Bosque. Great positioning and while the location may be obvious, it's not a generic image.

Truly marvelous light on the cranes, Patrick. I also think that the composition is excellent, you got them in the exact right spot in the frame!

Well synchronized and positioned shot. The hindmost crane has some slight wing blur, but is in focus. This suggests to me a higher ISO would have allowed a greater SS and stopped the motion more fully. That is, if you were shooting aperture. The light though, really makes this picture!

Phil,
good observation regarding the wing blur. I might have reduced the f/stop and increased the shutter speed in retrospect. I try to keep the ISO on the D4 below 1000 if possible. If above that number I find an introduction of noise. I was shooting manual, which I neglected to mention. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

Now I really want to go to Bosque Patrick. Superb action shot with mirroring wing positions in awesome light and a great background showing a nice environment. The under wings might be a little noisy but hard to tell on my screen. Superb image. I must go to Bosque next year if I'm able to get away. This is the image that is calling me.

Along with the beautiful light, I really like the feel of motion in this photo. The crane symmetry is super nice too.
