From a trip to Kamp Valley in the northern part of Lower Austria last week. We enjoyed the deep brown of the clear water working together with the fresh white snow.

Peter, Beautiful winter scene with so much mood. I like your comp very much and the light and color looks great. The touch of cool blue tones looks so nice here and I like the contrast with the dark water. The water also has some very nice texture to it. At first I thought maybe the shadows could be just a bit lighter (especially the left side) but after looking at the large version I like it as you have it.
I do recommend looking at the Large Version! It really comes to life then! :toast:

I agree - the color and tonal contrasts are beautiful!! And I don't think that the image needs any more light, it is excellent as it is!

Looking at this image I can feel the cold. I love the feel this image has and I also love the contrast of the snow to the cool dark water

Hi Peter,

There is certain soothing nature to this winter image. I was not sure about it when I first saw the thumbnail, but opening up the larger version really makes me appreciate what you have given us with this lovely winter image. The light is very mellow, and the the browns in the water work so well with the snow.

Very nicely seen and captured
