I am numbering these images in this series. Each is different in color, shapes, lines and detail. I have had an obsession which began with the fall colors reflecting in water. Depending upon the movement of the water these colors and shapes differ in magical ways. This image was taken with the Canon SX50, F5, 1/320 sec., ISO 400, Ex. 0.7, subject distance 40.0M.

Thank you for looking and commenting.

The colors and patterns you've captured make for a beautiful abstract. :toast:

Hi Patricia,
Very cool! The ripple pattern reminds me of alligator hide.. What made the ripple like that?

Guy. The patterns vary widely and are best on a windy day or on a pond where there is an inlet causing water movement.

Beautiful! You've got a fine range of complementary colors and the "tile" shapes in the ripples add great textures. In abstracts like this, brightness and darkness are the main ways of adding/reducing emphasis. In this image, I'd burn in the light area along the center of the top edge and dodge some of the area near the lower left 1/3 point to even out where my eyes linger. The textures and variety of color in this image are terrific.

This is gorgeous! From my point of view, it is best if I don't know the scale nor the setting - just the beautiful abstract image!! :toast:

I also love this kind of abstract photography, Patricia. I have a favorite small pond I go to get these kind of images. I like the pattern and the red/green colors in this one. Just beautiful. :toast:

Water abstracts are my favorite--to take and to view. this one has a lovely mix of colors and a nice pattern. I think a little more contrast would really make it pop but it's great as is. Nicely seen and captured

Patricia: What I like most about this type of image is that it can never be duplicated. Well seen and superbly rendered.>=))>

Patricia, your eye for the ephemeral and abstractly beautiful details in nature never ceases to amaze me. This one is truly unique and mesmerizing.
