Winter Sunrise Special

This small flock of geese was still at the Modoc National Wildlife Refuge in northeastern California on this wintry morning recently.
Most of the other birds were gone to sunnier places south, as the lake here was frozen.

I love the different layers and the pastel colors. The mist add a bit of mystic to this scene.

Just beautiful, Kathy. I love the MG trees in the mist and the light there so much that I could see a pano crop, eliminating the snowy BG mountains entirely. I've got to get up there someday.

Could be a slight clockwise rotation based on the shorelines in the larger version. Also could be an optical illusion.

Beautiful light and layers of light and color, Kathy. The composition is nicely balanced, and the geese add a element to th sunrise.

Nice use of thirds and the geese add a lot.

What a magical scene

Wish I'd been ther! The mist and the geese are wonderful...but, add mountains and that sky...wonderful sight. And, I really like the way the light gets rosier as you move to the right side! Very fine.

What a lovely, peaceful sunrise. The geese and the subtly lit fog add greatly to the sense of peace. Looks like a wall hanger to me.
