...on the plains of the Mara Triangle.

This image didn't quite make the cut for my selection of "10 images below 100mm", which is a reflection on my blog of my resolution to do more wide angle wildlife photography in 2014. You can check out the post here: http://bit.ly/Morkel2014

Techs:
Nikon D800
Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 @ 24mm
Kenko Pro Circular Polariser
f4.0 | 1/400 SS | ISO-100

It's hard to describe why I like this, but there is something very elemental seeing this lone elephant in this wide expanse.

Hi Morkel this is an awesome resolution. I should try it too. I like this a lot. I like seeing how wide open everything is and also wonder where the elephant walked from.

Such a large animal, in an even larger space, and yet even larger sky - works VERY well!

Epic comes to mind. This is a big bull. Did you get any close up shots?

This would look best viewed large! Good composition choice and some cloud patterns make it a strong image. 24mm...close!

Cripes, how close were you????
I like seeing this wide angle image of an elephant. It's good to see the terrain, and yet still a great image of the animal itself.
