Pink & Purple Peony

Again, from the trial garden of exotic peonies. Taken with SX50, F5, 1/80 sec., ISO 125, -0.3 Exp., 28mm., Distance 950mm.

I have posted two separate takes on the same picture. The first with a vignette (as large) and the second as shot.

Choice of the two and comments are always appreciated.

A well captured beauty, Patricia. I prefer the original, but mostly because I find the vignette a bit strong. Soften the vignette, and my opinion may well change. Wish our local gardens had a trial garden of "exotic poenies." This subject is very striking and a great floral subject.

I definitely prefer the original, at least with how the vignette is presented. Beautiful contrasting colors. There is some strong sharpening artifacts along the petal edges.

The large version for me!!! The way the edges slowly fade away is simply magical :toast: :toast:

The vignetted version for me as well. It doesn't seem too strong to me.

Oh, wow… I thought the original would be my pick until I saw what you did with the vignette-----> my jaw dropped! Both are incredible but the vignette version gets my vote.
Just curious, did you use an outline type filter on the original image?

Patricia: Frame filling fantastic! I do think I prefer this version over the vignette but not by much and if the vignette was not quite so strong I would probably go for it. Both work very well. :toast: :toast: >=))>

Just superb, Patricia ! Almost icy sharpness to the petal edges and a lovely clear centre, all most delicate in colour tones.
