Through Thin Ice #4

We've had enough melt and refreeze in the last 3 days to give me some interesting views with the ice in my pond adding some fine distortion to the views of the water lily leaves below. The cold water has turned one leaf an amazingly deep red. This is a 5 shot stack for top to bottom sharpness. (5D3, 100mm macro IS, 1.3s, f/18, iso 200, tripod, polarizer, and 2s timer)

Wow, Mark. The colors and shapes are mesmerizing. You are the master of ice abstract art, and this one ranks with your best, IMO. :toast:

A gorgeous image, Mark - the colors and depth of field carry the day! If I forget the scale it reminds me of a microscopic rock thin-section seen in cross polarized light (I'm a geologist - professional bias, I suppose.....) :toast:

Incredible colors for leaves that are under water! I would expect them to turn brown really fast... Well seen and captured Mark!

Love this kind of thing, Mark !! Like an expressionistic colour field painting , yet retaining enough of the quality of ice and water to suggest the natural subject. Top notch !!

Hey Mark,
I love the detail and colors in the image, this is one of your better abstracts and the textures of the Ice add a good deal of additional interest.
Well presented . . . :toast:
