In keeping with our door & window theme we appear to have, I'll add one more. This is a shot from another ghost town along the RCPE railroad line, this time from Powell. There are only two abandoned buildings left here. This house once doubled as the post office. I used a pair of Nikon SB-900 inside, and one White Lightning X3200 outside. Nikon D800E with Sigma 35mm f1.4 "A" lens. (Love that lens!)

Stink that's a cool image, Kent! Quite a lot to take in and appreciate, actually! I'm really liking your railway ghost town series. I'm not sure this would really make an "improvement," but as a possible alternative I'm wondering if toning down the lit ground under the train might make that element more recognizable and perhaps the overall scene more pleasing. I found myself looking a couple times as at first glance it kind of comes across as a horizontal part of the window...the colour and brightness is so similar to the frame itself. Just a thought...it's a very unique and memorable image as presented.

This is very graphic. The train makes this look like a photograph within another photograph and I mean that in a good way. This has an almost ghostly feel to it. I might consider cropping out the junk at the bottom. Otherwise, this is quite compelling.
