Pine Grosbeak

Been a long time since I have seen these, so I really enjoyed spending a recent morning in the midst of a flock of about 30 near Sault Ste. Marie, MI. I cloned out some small branches from near the bird's head, but I am concerned the BG is still a little distracting. I liked the curve of the bird's body and how that shape is continued in the branch to the left.

Agree with you Matt the pose of the bird is really nice, lovely muted colours. Not many berries left for the next bird, like this a lot.

I like the unusual pose, the environmental surroundings and the detail of the feathers. No nits here.

The pose brings out the hidden colors in this grosbeak. Nice details and the background does not distract from the subject

great pose and some nice details. I like the colors throughout, with the reds in the bird matching those of the berries and twigs. I might try a second round of sharpening applied only to the bird's head--it looks a bit less sharp, whether due to DOF or motion, than the rest of the bird.
