Lafayette Reservoir last fall. We are very lucky to have a 925-acre park with a large reservoir adjacent to our Lafayette home.

Taken with an i-phone 6+.
I Don't hike with the D800 or 500mm lens any longer!

I really like the ridge after ridge composition, each succeeding ridge fainter than the one in front. The composition is nice as is the mood. The monochromatic sense of this really appeals to me. I don't see any crop that would improve what you've chosen. It has an Eden like - Valhalla like feel to it.

There is a fair amount of noise in the larger version. What I've learned from my iphone 5 is that any zoom greatly diminishes the quality of the image. It's better to take it as is and crop it in photoshop. Oh and one other thing, using the crop tool provided by iphone greatly damages the quality as well.

This is stunning! Can you enlarge to any extent when taken on a phone or I-pad? Sure would make a wonderful print.

Beautiful, Sandy. Looks more like a painting than a photograph, but I like the monotone color and watercolor look.

Great collection of layers set off well by the lighting. Looks like a fine use of that camera phone.

I love the layers here Sandy. I might be tempted to bring up he highlights a little to make it really pop.

The soft lighting and layers combined with the slight bit of noise and subtle tinting could easily make one believe that this was a turn of the century pictorialist photograph. Very nice Sandy.

Very nice, Sandy, particularly considering the equipment. I suppose we'll all be reduced to taking images with our phones some day
