Flying High

This is a composite of three images. The great egret's background was the messy tangle of marsh grass and it needed a much cleaner background to be appreciated. Have a folder of sky images so I combined the two. I think both were taken with the Canon SX50, ISO 400. After viewing it as my screen saver I realized I didn't bring along his feet which were invisible in the original, so I took some for the next shot and added it to this one.

Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

Impressive and artistic composite, Patricia. The subject is beautifully rendered against the terrific bg. :toast:

I like this Patricia, feels like your flying along beside the Heron in a Fairy Tale. Your choice of background sky and the take-off pose of the Heron both work well together.
Very creative and enjoyable image, Well done . . . :toast:

This is beautiful, Patricia! I love the pose, the lighting, and the sky you chose for the bg.

Very realistic composite. The bg is an excellent compliment to the bird.

A beautiful composite and very natural looking. I believe this is a Great Egret rather than a White Heron (white morph of Great Blue Heron), which has pale yellow legs rather than black. Anatomically, while the legs look regular in that position, they would either be mostly behind the wing or streaming straight back. Having "nitted" my nits, it is still a well made image, and as a POP photo, well within the boundaries of artistic license.
