Into The Mystic

This is from the back roads of Nevada on night with some great light and clouds. I really like the dreamy look of this scene and I purposely left it dark and moody, almost painterly.

My apologies to Van Morrison for stealing his song title, but I thought it fit my reaction to the image.

This is wonderfully moody with great layers and a terrific sky, Harley. I like the hints of rain above the last ridge and the patch of clear sky between it and the clouds up top. I've spent some time looking, much of which was trying to turn the bottom 20% into a ridge and wishing for a bit more contrast between it and the "next" ridge. However, I've finally decided that it's lowlands leading up to the first ridge, and more contrast there won't help.

Great song and I think you did it justice with this image, Harley. I like the dark and moody layers and a killer sky. The large view is real nice.

I really like the subtle light in the image and the very simple composition.

Dreamy is the perfect word! The layers of mountains combined with the clouds and the soft light really work well together.

This all about layers of light and subtle changes in color and tones, to me. I like the pano crop and the natural vignette caused by the clouds. nicely done!

The large version is a real treat, Harley. The subtle colors in the layers are sublime and the drama in that sky is first rate. I particularly like the clouds on the left side with what appears to be rain. Great song BTW.
