Going through some old files I have reworked this one ( I did post a version some 4 years ago and hope this is legitimate ).

Canon 400D, 100mm Macro, 1/40 sec @ f2.8, 0.67ev, ISO 200'; blur layer added selectively in Perfect Effects.

I really like the way the depth of field slowly focus attention on the center of the dahlia. :toast:

Lovely colors and blurring effect. It certainly moves the eye in to the center!

Not sure about the vignette blur effect. Think an in-sharp focus version would be more my taste on this subject or a white vignette with a low opacity might work as well. All options are a personal taste so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

Beautiful colors and comp! The blur layer works very well to focus attention on the center of the flower.

Great colors and wonderful dof. This belongs on a wall to be gazed at throughout one's day. I find it very restful

Really nice Ian. Great light and a wonderful point of focus. The color is very nice too. I have been going through old images also. I need to try to get a few images processed.

Ian: I like what you've done here and how you've brought attention to the center of the bloom. Pretty nice color as well. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

An excellent work Ian. I love the selective focus that helps showing only the splendid color of the borders. Very good diagonal composition too for a more dynamic image.
