Hope all of you don't mind another Roadrunner image. I like this one for the good look at the head and eye and the fact that I managed to get most of the tail in focus. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Cropped and minor adjustments only. I did not manipulate the background in any way. Comments and critiques welcome.

Canon 200-500 f4 L IS

nice light, and great comp. I think that I like this one better due to the raised tail--such a classic roadrunner pose.

Jerry, I really like both pictures of the Roadrunner. Since I am new to photography, and even newer to the aspects of criticism, I put both of your Roadrunner pictures side-by-side to see if I can tell any differences. Also, I want to establish my own preferences about what I enjoy about each one and why. I hope this is acceptable.

Post 1 - has a more natural looking b/g. The brown grass surrounding the subject is exactly what I see when I look outside.
Post 2 - has more of a green tint to the overall picture. The b/g seems OK with this, but it looks to me that the green tint discolors the lighter colored feathers of the bird as well.

Post 1 - the bird is a bit smaller in the picture, but the detail of the feathers is great. I like the standing head feathers. It looks as if he is alert and is checking out what is happening. The lowered tail feathers don't bother me at all and seems very natural.
Post 2 - the bird is larger in the picture with just the opposite; lowered head feathers and raised tail feathers. The sharpness of the bird is outstanding.

As I said above, I like both pictures, but if I had to pick one of the two, I would choose your first one because of the more natural color and the stance of the subject.

My two cents.

Nice detail in the bird and a great background to show him off. Cool pose too!

Hi Jerry, I think both posting have to be viewed separately and are therefore standalone images because of their different merits, but both are very 'cool' images and the overall colour palette very pleasing. :toast:

Don't mind a bit - another gorgeous image of a "paisano". I don't know if they call them that in your part of Texas - that's what they call them in Big Bend country. Thanks for sharing! :toast:

Jerry Looked at this again and it has to be No 2 in my book. Just my personal opinion.

Very nice, Jerry. There might be just a slight greenish color cast to the image, but I haven't calibrated in a while so I'm not sure. Otherwise, it's a very strong image, and, unlike a lot of Roadrunner photos, shows the relation to the Thrasher family nicely. :toast:

Nice catch, I like the alert pose. Detail in the larger image is very nice.
