After The Rain

It's been a warm but wet winter so far here in the Seattle area. Last night it finally stopped raining enough to venture out for a cityscape or 2. It turned out to be one of those freshly washed clear nights.

This shot is from the Rizal Bridge just south of downtown Seattle. It's very difficult to get a sharp image since the bridge is nearly always vibrating with the traffic. After several attempts, including a few different spots on the bridge for comp variety, this is my favorite from this location.

This is a terrific "night cityscape", Steve. The sweep of the traffic going all the way from left to right creates a great dynamic and then you've got a good balance between the bridge with it's red lights on the left and the downtown skyline on the right. In the larger version, there's enough detail in the right foreground to let it hold it's own.

What is it that looks like a projected shadow of a fence on the foreground trees? I once knew a gal who lived on the hill above here, spectacular view of the city!

Worked out well! Cheers: tom

Excellent cityscape image. I really like the freeway lines leading into downtown.

Great stuff - I like how balanced the comp feels from corner to corner and from left to right.

Terrific curves and a nice exposure. All the different colored lights look really nice.
