Hi William, much prefer this image, nice space around the subject and I like the look to camera. Normal 'where possible' I would try to achieve/extract a bit more detail in the snow, but this for me being so 'clean/flat' works nicely and provides a bit more standout, all you have is the disturbed snow where he's walking or from previous disturbance. Could be wrong, but looking at the larger version it appears to be some contour halos around the legs, or it my be these old eyes?

Nice elk shot! Not totally perfect, but pretty darn close. You might tone down the foreground snow (and maybe pick up some detail in it) There is some slight halowing around the legs, as Stephen mentioned. They are not particularly objectionable, but they can easily be taken out with a small blur brush. I like the implicit action signified by the lifted front foreleg.

Very nice Bill. I assume this is the same bull from some of your earlier posts. The exposure looks spot on. I like the look he's giving you. Not quite as dramatic as your NPN Weekly Pick pic, but nice no less.

The raised foreleg and slight head turn make this real nice. The unbroken snow in front lends a bit to the story, too. Good capture!

You caught a super pose with the raised foot and head turn Bill. I might wish for a less busy bg but nothing you could have done about that. Great job getting that close :toast:

Hello and thanks for your feedback!

Enjoyed my time with this guy , was cold for me but felt a worthwhile time to see and capture a memorable moment of the elk. taken a few weeks ago in cold winter conditions with some snow falling lightly, what I like about this capture, is the clean virgin snow with some very long elk shadow in front of him. I attempt to capture the leg positioning as seen here, which really emphasizes the deep chest, and the leg lift with slight lean into the movement forward.

cheers
