Lesser Scaup in Flight

I used a higher ISO that allowed me a higher shutter speed than I had on the Bufflehead. The higher shutter speed allowed me to freeze the motion entirely. I like the fact that the wings are fully extended and you can see light reflecting off the underside of the left wing. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

That is nice. I was going to comment on the other image (which is great, btw), but this one really does if for me. You caught this one just right. Great detail all over and that big yellow/orange eye draws me in. Maybe just a little more room on the bottom if you have it, but great nonetheless.

Very nice BIF -- sharp as a tack with wings fully down -- great detail in the scaup

Great wing position and detail Jerry. Maybe a little less sharpening/blurring?? - it seems a little artificially separated from the background on my monitor

Rob,

Thanks for your comments. Didn't do anything but minor adjustments and cropping in Lightroom 5.

Works for me Jerry. Like the reflection in the wing.

This is real nice Jerry. I like the wings down position and the flight angle is great. A little more room on the bottom would be nice. Well captured!

G'day Jerry,

After reading Steve's comment, it's the reflection in the underwing and not your adjustments - great shot

Cracking shot of this scaup in flight Jerry. Beautiful detail and lighting. The only thing I would suggest is a bit more room on bottom if you have it and a bit less on top :toast:

You nailed this one Jerry. Echo the comments about the crop, nicely done.
