Canon EOS 7D 300 f/4 L IS USM
f/5.6 ISO 200 1/100sec

Foggy morning at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center
Port Aransas,TX

Lr4; Topaz Denoise, Detail 3, Clarity;
Nik Color Efex Pro 4 Tonal Contrast(softening)

Have been using lower ISO and working in post processing to remove haze(fog) from images vs higher ISO and loosing detail in removing noise. Comments appreciated.

I extensively used the 7D before the Mk II came out. I was always fighting shutter speed versus ISO on the 7D. I loved the 7D, but it was a very poor performer even at relatively low ISO's. I still see a little noise in the image, even though it was shot at ISO 200. The background in this image is certainly busy, but sometimes these guys don't get the memo to stand in the open. A little more room on the left would help. Thanks for sharing this.

It's tough to get this species against something other than a busy background, but you got what the bird gave you. Dealing with haze and fog is always problematic. One thing to watch for is the effect post-processing can have on calm water; in the area under the bird the water has a plasticky look. As Jerry says, it's a struggle...
