Another Snowy Morning

Weather forecasters correctly predicted the cold, but missed the target for snow. About 3 inches fell so far, but squalls and high winds continue to make visibility difficult. I had to clean my kitchen window with a razor blade because the window cleaner froze instantly. Birds have been coming in at the feeders and I was able to get a few photos of juncos, goldfinches, siskins and tree sparrows. Tree sparrow shown here-- K5 IIs, 300mm f4 (1/800 sec at f8.0, ISO 500), Levels, LM masks, and Hue Saturation for slight red cast in BG. I believe that this image needs to be slightly cooler WB than what's shown here..........Jim

Bird is a standout against the greys and whites - good job on getting the falling snow -- lot to like about this picture

Nice capture Jim. We're getting the same treatment in Northern Vermont, and this image shows it perfectly. :toast:

Very cute how the little sparrow faces adversity! White balance looks natural and pleasant to me.

Fine image, caught the bird nicely and the falling snow looks good, adds to the image. Maybe just a bit more detail in the snow on the tree. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jim, gorgeous capture, the snow falling just ramps the image up, superb detail. I think I agree with you Jim re going cooler, but you may only wish to apply that to the BKG to give a bit more emphasis to the overall winter feel?
