Here's an ice pattern from my pond reflecting colors from the surroundings (including our brick house, along the left side). This was taken a couple of minutes later than my earlier post in Landscape here with the camera a bit closer and moved about a foot to the side. This is a 9 shot stack for dof. (5D3, 100mm macro IS, 1/8s, f/8, iso 200, tripod and cable release)

The patterns in the ice and the reflected colors are beautiful, Mark! Excellent sharpness, detail, and comp.

The sharpness and contrast are excellent, and I like the composition. I sort of miss the point from which the crystals radiate away on the right - would a horizontal crop work better? (or bring other problems?)

Great detail in this one Mark and a very interesting combination of angles and lines. The colored reflections are icing on the cake.

Mark: These shots are just spectacular IMO. I am curious regarding whether you used a CPL since there appears to be little extraneous reflectivity. Superb vision, superb image.>=))>

Bill, this was taken without a polarizer because I wanted strong reflections. The combination looking at right angles to the sun and shapes in the ice prevented any solar glint.
