Any big city is an interesting location for observation of human interaction. The observation skills of rapidly evolving scenes is also applicable to landscape areas such as aerial photography. I used to spend a lot of my time in international travel, but generally stuck in cities, so not starting out as a street photographer, I ended up doing a lot of it!

Not sure what the young lady was concerned about, but looking back with some concern! My Chineese friends refer to Sydney as Xi Ni, "Shee Knee".

Cheers: Tom

Nice dynamic going on here, Tom. It's always interesting to wonder what folks are thinking about. My only nit, a minor one, is the very bright area of sky on the right. Other than that, I think this works well.

Hi Tom! This is a very introspective image that is one of those frames that hardly needs a caption even...the body language communicates so well as does your choice of B&W. While I agree with Preston re the bright area pulling my eye briefly, the drama of the subject in her surroundings brings me right back to your main story. My nit, however, is simply that it look from this posting anyway that the focus may be off (behind the subject) or she was moving at too great a speed for you to capture the motion cleanly (the relatively sharp left shoe suggests the latter may be the case but overall it looks like the focus may be behind her). All in all a very interesting post!

A Hitchcockian scene if there ever was one. The uneasy tension is conveyed very well.
