Rippled Sycamore

I enjoy the patterns that ripples create. Here's a look into the reflection of a winter Sycamore catching some late afternoon light as the C&O canal is stirred up by the wind. I've rotated this 180 degrees to have the tree pointing up. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 @ 200mm, 1/13s, f/11, iso 800, tripod, polarizer, and cable release)

I see this image and immediately think "late winter" - I really like it when an image can convey a message of this kind - thanks!

Interesting effect! I've been looking at it for some time now, and the patterns really get even more amazing after some time, to a point where it's not even recognizable as a tree anymore. Our brains can play weird tricks with us! Very well seen and captured, love it!

Wonderful impressionistic image of this tree, Mark. Really like how the water has emphasized the curves in the branches; in some places creating circular designs. Outstanding seeing.
