Really nice capture here Scott. Really shows off that colorful skin patch. The lizards put this over the top. I would selectively lighten the background to make this even better. Well done.

Hi Scott:
Welcome to NPN. Looks like your first post. Thanks for sharing. The lizard sure makes this image a lot more interesting. I like that part very much. The background appears to be concrete? Can't quite tell. It would be helpful if you provide EXIF info with your shot (shutter speed, aperture, ISO) to help understand the situation. A larger version can also be uploaded (1200px at up to 500KB) for more detailed viewing. Your Purchase Print link is broken.
Looking forward to more of your images and your participation with comments on the work of others.

That's quite a mouthful! A lower angle might've helped blur the background. Cool capture

Hi Scott, great to see you posting here! Really neat first post, amazing to get this guy with 2 lizards, I agree that a lower angle if possible might have resulted in a more pleasing background. Looking forward to seeing more of your work here.

Great first post. Wow 116mm he was in your lap. I agree that a lower angle could improve and perhaps a bit more of a head turn to improve eye contact. That said, this is an excellent behavioral image as is. Nice work.

Thank you everyone; I appreciate the feedback! I used 1/125 sec at f/13, ISO 1250. yes, concrete (a patio) behind it, and it is considerably cropped. I was not as close as it may appear. It was a fluid and rapidly evolving situation and I felt fortunate to get what I did; agree that if it turned its head a tiny bit more, that would have been a better view of the eye. Absent me moving, which could have scared it or lost the chance altogether, not sure what I could have done re the angle. Thanks again for the comments - and yes, my first post to this site, but I do have images now in my portfolio. Scott Stoner

Super shot. Only suggestion would be a less tight crop of the bird because composition looks somewhat unbalanced. Great moment to capture.
