Ice Wall (w/repost)

An image of an ice wall where the trees act like a curtain slightly hiding its massive scale and beauty. For some reason I like the partially hidden view rather than most of the shots of just the ice. What are your thoughts. In this area it is posted no trespassing so there is no access to the ice walls behind (probably because ice climbers used to scale them). Canon Powershot SX50, F4, 1/1000 sec., ISO 200, -0.3 exposure.

Comments please.

Patricia, the ice wall looks very interesting, too bad you can't get close enough to show it off on its own. I find the trees in from to be too much of a distraction. Might it be possible to get just the thinner branches in front, without trespassing?

An interesting location, Patricia, that you've done a good job of depicting. I feel like perhaps tilting the camera up a few degrees to see some more of the ice falls so that the snow to cliff boundary was not centered in the frame might be worth investigating. That would also make the trees more consistent in that none of them would have had their bases in the frame instead of a mixture. More screen like that way. I don't find them to be a distraction at all. I think your concept could work real well... the color and light are very nice and well handled.

Nice ice wall, I like it. I would just try to remove the tree on the side because it doesn't match the straight lines of the ice and the other trees. Bravo!

A complex scene with crisis-crossing lines but I like it a lot Patricia. I especially like the warm light on the tree trunks which is a nice contrast to the cold wall of ice.

Thanks for the feedback. Think maybe this is a reject, but here is a repost with the angled tree and the dark one on right removed. Any better?

I agree that the curtain of tree improve the image greatly. Great seeing on your part. You are one of the more creative photographers on this website and that's really appreciated.

Really like the depth of this image.  Wonder what it might look like in black and white to emphasize even more the lines.
