Ripples #5

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted March 2, 20152,251 views7 comments
This was taken at a local stream from a rock cliff looking down. The reflections are from fall colors on trees surrounding the stream and distorted by the movement of the water. Taken with Canon 50SX, F4.5, 1/100, ISO 800

Again, please give comments or suggestions. I will only post a few more as my addiction has given me hundreds of possibilities.

Beautifully done Patricia. I would enter this in the landscape forum where it will get more feedback. It's neither macro nor detail.

You are certainly the master of reflections on this website. I just can't believe how many different compositions can be created in this genre.

The sections of clear blue sky give this view a very different feeling from your others, Patricia. The mix of abstract and real gives this view much more of a "being there" sense. Yes, it's very easy to shoot hundreds of these when the conditions are right.

Exquisite image, Patricia ! It has a lovely sense of airiness, while the reflections lead the eye a merry dance with all their sudden twists and turns !!

I am always on the lookout for interesting reflections, and I have saved more than a dozen of my own, but I have to say yours are extraordinary, Patricia. I really like the thin, distorted lines in this one. Very unique and a real work of art. :toast:

Surreal and beautiful - the soft pink colors are quite astonishing!

This is absolutely beautiful. As a fellow water abstract addict, I hope you keep posting lots of these. This is probably the best water reflection I've seen. I can't stop looking at it. Outstanding!

I like this very much - but I will add that I wondered what it would look like with a crop from the right to more isolate the thin colors from the heavier group of colors to the right. I like that even better.
