Crocus In A Crevice

I sure liked the setting of this little group of crocus and chose a higher angle and deeper dof. I did make some leafy detritus disappear from the right lower corner and used NIK to even out a bright spot on the rock in the upper left.

D750, 105 micro, circ. pol.; f8, 1/20, ISO 320 under a thin, bright overcast sky.

Thanks for your thoughts on this one.

I like the dof AND the setting… the spot-on sharpness of the bellowing blooms makes this pot …oh…and the colors… special mix of life in the crocos and deadness in the rocks.

Beautiful crocuses nicely placed in juxtaposition with the rock face. The strong lines of the crack lead the eye right to the blossoms. I believe I would lose the partial spent blossom and the green grass in the LRC.

They seem to be reaching out, like hatchlings in a nest! Very well seen!

What a delightful scene, Catherine !! You've caught the flowers in perfect light with a strong sense of their insistence on surviving amongst the rockery. I don't mind the greenery at all !!!

Just a note on the greenery: it's the foliage of the crocus plant. I wish there had been a few sprigs on the upper side for balance in the comp, but there you have it.
Thanks to Alberto for defining for me the attraction to this comp. I just couldn't come up with the words for the comparison.

Catherine: Beautiful bunch and a fine comp. I would definitely make the debris on the rock go away and I might crop some from the ULC. to tighten up on the blooms a bit. I like the greenery. I'm still jealous  . >=))>

Dear Catherine here are again your beloved crocuses that are always beautiful. What do you think about cloning the yellow/red spot in the left, near the flowers?

Wonderful image Catherine. I agree with those that want the spent bloom gone. I'm fine with the grass. Beautiful color and comp.

These little ones poking out of the crevice are amazingly cute, Catherine, sure has me wishing for a larger view. I think the crocus leaves in the lower right add a lot to this view, which has me wondering about a square crop.

A different and beautiful crocus image. I like the perspective and the environment. The green leaves add interest.
