Oklahoma Antelope

Made a drive through the panhandle of Oklahoma and ran across some antelope. This buck was all alone off the rode about 80 meters. This was one of the first days we had temps above 70 degrees fahrenheit, so I think there is some heat shimmer to this. I liked the positioning of the subject and decided to do a pano to remove the sky and extra f/g. I also cloned some out-of-focus sticks from the f/g and small bushes from the b/g, fortunately none of them crossed the subject.

C&C appreciated.

I like the animal scape you captured here. I think you may be right about the heat waves. My only other nit is the OOF vegetation in the front. Since you shot from your car, this was probably unavoidable. Nice image nonetheless.

Greg:

I like these kinds of images. The environment really adds to the sense of place. I like the OOF vegetation as it adds to the environmental component of the image. Yep, the heat waves were not helping for overall clarity, but those are going to happen on warm days. Nice captured. I like the pano crop!

Your choice of composition gives the viewer a sense of the vast landscape this antelope is in. Makes me feel like I am there enjoying the sight of this beautiful animal. I too see the heat waves but that gives a realistic feel for the temperature that day.

I like it. Despite the mentioned "flaws", it gives the sense of seeing it from a road perspective.

The mood and the composition work fine for me. In a perfect world I would have liked the foreground vegetation to be included in the focal zone.
