Taken March 13, 2015 in San Diego While photographing Grebes Rushing with my 600mm lens and 1.4TC, this fellow landed fairly close by and caught fish after fish. The entire time he was inside my focal length and I did not want to miss a "rush" if it happened. Finally he moved a little bit and I was able to get a head shot.

Nikon D4 850mm ISO640 1/2000 f/20 White Balance Auto RAW Processed in Lightroom, PhotoshopCC2014 and NIK

Hey Patrick,
This is an excellent portrait of a very difficult subject to capture properly. Man you nailed this one with great detail in those white feathers. Your missing an outstanding Florida trip and I hope you got everything back to normal at work, looking forward to you joining us next year. This is one of those situations when I'm liking my variable zoom, they are seldom too close.

Neat head shot, Patrick. I like the angle of the head turn.

I really like the head turn and feather movement with this one Patrick. nice detail and I like the soft light. It might just be my eyes playing tricks on me at night, but it seems to have a slight green overcast.
