Another one from Table Mountain, California. D800e, 80-200 2.8 @ 125mm, 1/500, f16, ISO 500. Thanks for the comments on the previous photo. Comments on this one would be greatly appreciated.

That's just weird, I check this site on a daily basis and still I sometimes seem to completely miss some photos.... Your previous one is one of them, which is a shame, since it is absolutely stunning with all those colors and shapes! This one is equally nice, with more attention for the rocks which are very nice. I just think the brightness could be increased a bit, to get it more like the brightness of your previous upload.

Thanks for your comments Roel. I agree, this one could be brightened up a bit. The previous image was posted just as my yearly membership came up for renewal, which I had forgotten about. So, it was on NPN for a few hours and then it, along with my entire gallery, disappeared for several days. By that time there had been many new posts and my picture was at the back of the line. So, it's no wonder you missed it, as it was gone for several days, then re-appeared. It didn't get many views as a result. Hopefully, more will see this one. Again, thanks for your comments.

Real nice, Jim. I also like this cropped from the top just above the rocks on the right. This creates a very nice alternating pattern pano of rocks and flowers. Either way, the detail evident in the larger view is excellent.

Large view is a must - marvelous detail and colors! I agree that it could be brightened up a bit, but I think it also works well as it is. :toast:

Nice Jim. I'm with Scott on the crop suggestion. I think the soft flowers and the hard rock, kind of a ying-yang arrangement, would work really well here.

I agree with the crop suggestion. I gives more attention to the field of lupines which are the stars of the image. Nice image. The color of those lupines is really nice.

Thanks folks, for your comments. I will brighten it up some and crop according to suggestions. Please be more specific as to where the crop should be.

Here is a version that has been cropped (I think this is the crop that was suggested), and brightened a bit. I like it, but personally prefer the original crop. Would be interested to know what others think.

Looks good, Jim. I think both versions work, but I find the cropped pano more abstract and therefor more appealing. Again, this is not for any objective reason, but because of my personal appreciation for abstract patterns in nature, which emphasized in the cropped version.

Jim: Reminds me of the Texas Hill Country. Beautiful blooms and a very nice comp and capture. Well done.>=))>

Love the color and curves in this. Such a vision of spring!
I'm not on a color managed monitor, but I would like to see just a bit more brightness and contrast in this, and I think that would make it even more lifelike, too. The larger version seems brighter for some reason. Love it all the same. :toast:
