Back to Port Aransas with this Tricolored heron that gave me quite a nice session, though it refused tomove into debris free water. I do like the reflection of the reeds in this image.
7Dii, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, monopod, f/8.0, 1/1600, iso 800, Aperture Priority, center weighted average metering with -1/3 exposure compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 14.4 MP from the original 20. Taken at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center, Port Aransas, Texas at 8:16 am on February 22nd.
I always appreciate your input.

4 commentsClassic pose from the Heron and I like habitat. Details are nice and sharp and I like the ring from a drip off the beak I assume. The clutter in the upper right is unfortunate but it would be a tough clone job to remove it... for me anyway. Well done!
Still getting used to this 1600 LP, really makes the viewing experience a pleasure.. as seen here
Great habitat shot with excellent details, light, and colors Dennis
Nice detail and sweet soft lighting here Dennis, well composed too.
I really like the sharpness of the bird and all of those great reflections in the water, Dennis. Yeah, it would be nice to not have the clutter behind the heron, but the effect of the clutter is reduced nicely in the larger version. Hooray for 1600 px.
